The Strand Book Store hosts weekly author and artist events. All events are free and open to the public. Now you never have to miss a Strand Event, even if you can't attend in person! Thanks to our innovative new Live TV module from Xanga.com, you can watch an event on your PC, either Live as it's happening or at any time later at your convenience. (family hour events excluded).

How To Use Strand TV

• View live events by coming to this page when a live event is occuring.
• To stop watching the event, press the pause button under the video. To resume watching, press play.
• To adjust the volume, slide the volume control bar located on the right hand side under the video.
• To see what other online viewers are commenting on, click on the chat tab.
• To add your thoughts, click on the link to pick a guest name, or create and sign in to your Xanga.com account, then enter text into the field at the bottom of the chat box and press enter.
• To submit a question to be asked during the event (time permitting), click on the questions tab. You can also vote on questions others submitted by clicking on either the plus or minus signs next to their question, depending on whether you feel it's a good or bad question. The questions with the highest overall scores are listed first and will be asked first.
• View past events by clicking on the highlights tab. Scroll down the list and click on the one you want to watch, and it will start playing. To stop playback of past events and return to live view, click the "watch live" button.
